In This World of Miracles, We Notice So Few of Them
So many miracles happen to us . . . without ever being noticed. Here’s a recent example. I consider this an exception that proves the rule, since I did happen to find out about it. (Most of my neighbors probably didn’t.) See what you think, miracle or not?
A Dangerous Summer Storm Was Headed Our Way
For 24 years, my husband Mitch and I have lived in a modest split-level home in Northern Virginia. In Sterling, to be precise.
One afternoon we received a weather alert about the approach of a dangerous storm. Mitch watched the radar imaging. A great deal of rain was forecast, and that was the best case, that we would only receive a whole lot of rain.
A tornado warning came up on Mitch’s computer monitor. That wasn’t pleasant to see. Even though a tornado never struck, what did happen? As the storm picked up intensity, news alerts brought us reports of damage nearby, trees felled and power lines ruined.
In this neighborhood, moderately severe storms have often knocked out our electrical power. Wisely, Mitch went into our garage to retrieve our portable stove and a canister of propane to use as fuel for cooking. Years ago we bought these for camping, but these supplies have sure came in handy at home, whenever local power goes out.
After Mitch returned with these cooking supplies I congratulated him. It was the first time he brought them in before electricity stopped working. Usually he would have to grope-and-bump his way through boxes in our garage. He would use a flashlight, and plenty of time, to bring in these cooking supplies.
During previous power outages, we definitely needed a way to cook basic food. Especially intense was a storm 10 years ago, a storm that knocked out our power for two whole days. (To avoid spoiling the food in our fridge, we opened the refrigerator door exactly once, that first day.) Whatever meals we managed to put together on our camping equipment? Call them pretty basic.
Waiting to find out what this storm would bring, I vividly remembered the brutal winds and the harsh, cruel sheets of rain from 10 years ago. Looking just like the rain falling now, actually. I remembered how, after that terrible storm, uprooted trees and garbage littered our neighborhood streets for many days.
All We Could Do Was Wait
Outside our windows, the clouds turned black, charcoal black — a rare sight, and grim. At the sight we held our breath, as if in supplication: “Please spare our neighborhood.”
To pass the time, the two of us told each other stories. Those hours of storytelling felt very long. Intermittently, Mitch hunkered down by his computer. An eerie silence filled our home, except for the pounding rain.
All at once he had something to tell me, something wonderful.
What did he see, following the radar imaging, tracking the storm?
What?
Although serious rain was headed right toward Sterling, somehow the path of fast-moving clouds split in two. Then two different sets of storm clouds kept up their pace, moving rapidly from west to east. Only now they made a ragged circle around our city — passing us completely. Afterward, both sets of clouds joined up again, forming one scary storm. It proceeded to move east, clear past our city.
To us, this wasn’t just an escape but a miracle!

The Eyes Can’t See the Eyes
No matter when you live, significant human history generally goes unnoticed at the time. Leaning about history we can get the idea that past periods, like World War II, were understood by the people who lived through the violence. Yet the buildup to that war took years, and went largely unrecognized. Wherever there’s a war or social calamity, even when people form some basic idea of what’s going on, they never know how long that scary problem will last.
Throughout history, it has been the same. I’d call this another mystery. When we live in human incarnations, we’re alive in just one particular place and time. No matter how many previous lifetimes we’ve had, and all that we’ve learned from them, how much soul experience is available to us consciously? None of it.
History here at Earth School isn’t just what people put together afterward. The real news happens without news crawl on our TVs. It’s going to happen whether we notice the big picture or not.
Occurring Right Now? A Spectacular Example
Currently we are living in the second decade of the Age of Awakening, the big-deal 2nd consciousness era in human history. This happened on Dec. 21, 2012, but hello!
Then and now, our news media and phone notifications go nonstop, continually bringing us big, important, “breaking news.” But what have you encountered in the media about living in the Age of Awakening?
I managed to publish one magazine article that called attention to this historic change. What reaction did I get? OMG!??? Ha! More like, “That’s nice, Dear.”
Personally, I’ve given a couple of small-market media interviews that touched on this worldwide, historic Shift. Nothing like the thousand media interviews I was invited to give during the New Age Years. These magazine interviews landed with a thudddddd.
But, really, what recognition of this new consciousness era for humanity have YOU bumped into?
Do tell. Maybe post a note. Although, if you’re like most people living now, you never remarked on the media silence. Now, how do you explain this mystery?

That’s How History Unfolds
Never coming in a shiny package, giftwrapped with a bow.
History is mysterious, not obvious; it’s sloppy, not neat. Events happen for many years before most of the people involved even begin to comprehend what’s happening. That’s why I love this traditional proverb from Hinduism: The eyes can’t see the eyes.
But can’t you see your own eyes when you look through a mirror?
Hey, that doesn’t count. Since your natural, human eyes are not equipped with a built-in mirror.
Besides, do you have any idea how recent an invention it is, having an excellent mirror in your home? 1835!
One era’s miracles? In a later era, people see them as ordinary things to take for granted.
In the rest of this article, I’ll name other mysteries; ones that are directly related to Your Soul’s Education in the Age of Awakening.

Your Life Contract
Yes, you signed one. Even though you have forgotten even signing a Life Contract, let alone what was in it.
When you signed that Life Contract, you were living as an eternal soul, living in the Heaven to which you’d been assigned after your most recent “death.”
That previous incarnation, living as a unique soul expression, ended. Yet your consciousness never vanished. Neither did your aura. After the death of your previous incarnational body, it got cleaned up on the Other Side and became your everyday light body, housing your eternal soul.
Did You Know?
Between incarnations you’ve always lived in a light body, not a physical one.
Soon after your last incarnation, wearing your cleaned-up body of light as an eternal soul, you stood before God — or whoever else was assigned, for good reason, to take you through your latest Life Review.
Following that, you went off to live in the Heaven to which you were assigned: One out of innumerable heavens. This one was for souls whose consciousness was similar to your own, at the time. (That’s how all of them are organized, whether Astral Heavens for most eternal souls OR a Divine Heaven for souls that have attained Spiritual Enlightenment, or the equivalent.)
Eventually You Chose to Take on a Fresh New Body
That’s when you went to a Planning Meeting, where you worked out the fine points of your next incarnation. (At the link just provided, see Chapters 4 through 7.) Finally, you agreed to a new Life Contract.
Granted, most accounts of this process come to us from psychics. Now that humanity is living in the Age of Awakening, there’s a big gap between what psychic reports can tell us versus what we can learn from more reliable sources.
For this reason, I recommend that you keep an eye out for descriptions like what’s in the links you’ve been receiving so far in this article — descriptions that were cocreated with the Divine, rather than astrally sourced and, therefore, riddled with astral hooks.
Other distortions to accounts of what happens after death are distorted by religious programming. For example, you can find books about Near Death Experiences that purport to be accurate. Usually, though, the author is heavily programmed with Christian ideology. Expect most reports to be mixed, partly truth and partly distortion.
It would be ideal to find books or podcasts by people in Spiritual Enlightenment. One example is Paramhansa Yogananda’s Autobiography of a Yogi. Another example, far less prestigious, would be this author’s memoir of life up to starting to work as a spiritual teacher, Bigger than All the Night Sky
What’s Included in YOUR Mysterious Life Contract?
Important details abound, regarding your Early Karmic Years in this incarnation. These last from birth up to age 21 — or for some very ambitious souls — up through age 28. During these years, most of us pay back a ton of bad karma. Or we encountered ugliness that we took on as a volunteer — such as if, in this lifetime, we signed up for “The Awakening Project.”
Smart, really! We get over a bunch of unpleasantness while we are young and flexible.
Was any of this consciously labeled for us as “I agreed to everything in my Life Contract for My Early Karmic Years”? Of course not. A human incarnation will always be rife with mysteries.

You Can Evolve Beyond Recognition
Maybe you’ve been wondering, why so many pictures of the article author, pictures of me (and my chakra databanks) at different ages?
My pix can remind me of your own. Haven’t you too changed so much, even just physically, as to be quite unrecognizable?
At reunions for high school or college, what’s the biggest compliment folks might give you?
Oh, you look great.
You haven’t changed a bit.
Actually, I think the exact opposite is true.
What Does It Mean When Somebody Looks the Same After 25 Years?
Unlike most of the friends at your school reunions, I have studied the ancient art of physiognomy.
Details that other people wouldn’t notice? To me, they’re informative. As a professional face reader, I’m especially interesting in using the system of Face Reading Secrets to explore how our souls evolve over time.
If you’re curious about why it can be wonderful when a person’s face changes over time, respond and ask me. Besides that, how about you? Do you share the view, so common in American society, that the goal of life is to look as young as possible?
Often, our female celebrities have had so much cosmetic surgery that they look like their own granddaughters. Do you think that’s “Just great?” I’m curious to read your opinion, including WHY you value what you do.

Imagine the Scene
There I was, back at my alma mater, Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. It was my 25 year college reunion. In all those years, I hadn’t visited any of my college friends in person. The first evening, we had a fabulous dinner, served to us as we sat at long tables in one of the dining halls.
It was lovely to see-and-hear many of my old friends. Our conversation was lively. My best friend from college, Eda Warren, was there. We reconnected so beautifully, as if it hadn’t been a quarter century since we last spoke. From this time forward we actively stayed in touch, and were in close touch until her death. I even “interviewed” her later, using the Energy Spirituality skill for “Saying Goodbye After a Death.” I’ll link you to the article about that I published, here, “Eda Warren the Great-Hearted Artist. Obituary.”
Back at the reunion, all of us college buddies had no problem with keeping our conversation lively. Ah, it was just like being an undergraduate all over again! After a couple of hours, “Sam” asked an unexpected question:
Do any of you know what became of Laura Rosenbaum?
That had been my name, back in the day. Before a big change of name. But my name was the least of the mysteries. Beyond that, my face was unrecognizable. Natural changes, not surgically achieved. IMO, these were due to how much I had been growing as a person. Right away, Eda and I burst into loud laughter. Everyone else looked puzzled.
Isn’t this a fascinating mystery of human life? Whether our faces change a little or a lot, God is in the details. MEANING is certainly in those details, provided that you have developed skills for face reading.

Life Is Not a Test, as in “One and Done”
Evangelicals and other Christians offer a reassuringly simple view of life. This is your only lifetime, supposedly. By the end of it, God will decide which of the TWO possible destinations will be yours:
Either Heaven or Hell.
The ONE Heaven or the ONE Hell.
There you can expect to stay, without budging, for all eternity.
Look, what happens after death is clearly a mystery. But if you want a simplistic answer to that mystery, what could be better than the cutely rhyming phrase, “One and done.”
This could be directly related to this articles final Teaching Tale.
The Comfy Old Recliner
Among the many media interviews that I’ve done so far, this next anecdote describes one of the most shocking ones I’ve ever had. It took place over the radio, with a very large listening audience in the American Midwest.
The host of this show? I’ll call him Sam. He had a very likeable radio personality, and his interviewing style was friendly too. Even though what happened was absolutely shocking to me, Sam never spoke a word that was unkind, let alone rude. I doubt that he was the least bit shocked by any part of our interview.
So, What Happened?
In preparation for this interview, which took place long before email became available — yes, Spirituality Wisdom Seekers, there was such a time! We could call it “Most of human history.”
Sam Fed-Exed me copies of high quality photographs of important public figures in his city and state. The idea was that I would research some of their chakra databanks. None of the photos was labeled.
Toward the end of our segments together, Sam asked me to do an aura reading on the final photo. Let’s call him Mystery Man #5.
I had nice things to say about this last mystery man. At least, I had nice things to say until I got to his Third Eye Chakra Databank for Connection to Spiritual Source. At first I was stunned. Of course, I couldn’t remain silent. On live radio broadcasts, that isn’t done. I learned that during my second-ever radio interview! This particular interview was more like, approximately, Rose Rosetree’s Interview #774.
“It’s like this,” I told Sam. “I’m going to give you an analogy. All those other things I told you about this Mystery Man were like describing how his livingroom was furnished with an excellent sofa and a great sound system and some elegant lamps. But this part of his aura that I just read?
This chakra databank was more like Sam’s favorite armchair. I’m talking about a big old recliner, very comfortable. Sharply contrasting to all the other things in the room. These were up-to-date and clean and tasteful. While Sam’s armchair was almost falling apart, it looked so old and worn.
“Sam, I’ve just given you an analogy about this man’s relationship with God. It’s not up to date with the rest of the furnishings, you know?”
How I had struggled to express all this as tactfully as possible! Apparently, Sam was oblivious to any problem, though. Instead?
Sam Was Thrilled
“You’re right. You’ve been reading MY aura. My faith hasn’t changed since I was a teenager. Nothing about it has changed in any way.”
Sam spoke in a voice of great pride. I, by contrast, wanted nothing more than to remain speechless. (This is not an easy thing to do while being interviewed on a big radio show.)
Fortunately, our interview time was up. We danced a couple of sentences of radio kabuki, thanking each other for the interview.
If you were a 50-year-old man, and a big public figure in your city, would you have been so very sure? So very proud over 40 years of unquestioning, unaltered faith? Do tell.
Ultimately what happens to a human being after death remains a mystery. The question is, what will you make of that mystery?

Is Life Fair? Both Absolutely and Elegantly
What is the ugliest mystery of life? That might involve how tempting it is to believe, “Life’s not fair.”
How often we’re forced to hear others say it. On my Google just now, 1.4 BILLION hits for this phrase. As if this shallow-and-sulky idea about life were true.
What do I think has higher truth value?
In the Long Run, Life Is Both Fair and Relentlessly Educational
Here’s what I mean.
In the short run, how could life possibly be fair? We’re not living in a Heaven but on this Learning Planet.
So many people are here, each one having free will!
So many people all over this world being free to say and do whatever they like!
When God set up Earth School, this amazing academy for spiritual growth, it wasn’t for us to live as puppets or robots. God doesn’t keep us under control. Of course, there is going to be a certain amount of human chaos. And mystery!
Are there other worlds in which an eternal soul might incarnate? Could there be worlds that are far less demanding than Earth School, yet a little bit of spiritual growth is possible?
Ask about that by posting a note. I’ll give an example that might intrigue you.
Specifically, What Accounts for the Weird Things that People Say and Do?
Free will! Seems to me:
The free will of humans is key to our spiritual evolution here on Earth School.
Also, subjectively, each human being has independence built into our inner lives, both thoughts and feelings.
In objective reality, we’re mostly free to say and do what we like. Laws of nature are an exception, of course. Which is why, in reality, we can walk or run . . . but not fly.
What’s the main catch to all this personal freedom? Although we can say and do just about anything we like, there will be consequences.
Always, Consequences
An ancient word for consequences, a word with much excellent nuance, is KARMA.
Sophisticated people read this article, so I’ve got a few questions for you. Please respond out loud. Better yet, post a note. Share as many details as you like.
At a minimum, for yourself, just answer TRUE or FALSE to this handful of mystery-solving ideas:
You understand Karma well enough. Sometimes you might show off by joking, “Karma is a bitch.”
Karma means something subtly different, now that we’re living in the Age of Awakening. No longer dwelling in the Age of Faith.
And you know exactly what that difference is.
And you know why that difference matters is really-really important.
You don’t only know about Karma as an abstract theory. You know when to apply it to what is happening in your life.
Then, by all means, share all five of your TRUE OR FALSE answers by COMMENTING. I’m looking forward to learning that about you.
Fact Is, Karma Will Always Be Way Mysterious
Among other reasons, Karma is mysterious because it makes life fair for your soul . . . Over the lifetimes.
